The first Webinar from KA features Rabbis Moshe Shreck and Ephraim Baskin discussing how KA goes about certifying factories - in a fair amount of detail. Unfortunately there were issues with the sound and I am sure this and other technical issues will be rectified in future broadcasts. In any case go to 1:45 to start viewing.
It goes without saying that "It's Kosher" does not let the public know about their certifying methods. I doubt that they have the expertise of Kosher Australia or any of the other genuine Kashrus agencies in Australia.

This whole saga is unbelievable.
ReplyDeleteThe 11 most prominent local Rabbis sign a proclamation, same as leading Rabbis from overseas that it is forbidden to raise herds of Ben Pekuah for commercial purposes.
One fellow, who calls himself Rabbi (but has never substantiated it) who has a history of theft, deception, giving supervision plus selling Matzot that was chametz on pesach, made a phone Beth din to convert someone, comes along and opposes all rabbis, who all have communities unlike himself who has nothing.
This would be ok for Purim but it's still too early for that.

Kosher Australia would have at least 15 people working for them, while It's kosher has only Rabi and Gradman. They also spend considerable time marketing themselves and their products.

ReplyDeleteThe problem with it's kosher is that it is a business, unlike all the other Kashrut providers.
ReplyDeleteWhen a rabbi gets the profits rather than a fixed weekly wage from a board, serious breaches in kashrut occur as we are experiencing.
If anybody says something is kosher and it is found that it was blatantly not kosher with dishonesty it should be handled by consumer affairs same as when Gradman stole the premiums when he was selling insurance, and be banned to deal in this field ever again.

ReplyDeleteWhen I read what Rabi has to say re the 11 Australian leading Rabbanim supporting overseas Rabbanim in not accepting Ben Pekuah and seeing the typical Rabi response that he know better than all, it confirmed what a lowlife he is.
Meir Rabi said he accepts any and every rabbi in the world as long as they say what suits his business.

ReplyDeleteShochet Weis does NOT shecht Ben Pekuah. It is true that he did on one single instance but he refused to ever go back as many aspects troubled him. Including that DNA confirmed that non Ben Pekuah animals were found to be in between the 100% pure Ben Pekuah herd. There were many other issues including Rabi falsely claiming the meat is Parve and problems with Mashgichim.
These anonymous Shochtim of similar calibre is more fairy tails from Rabi.

In the Haggadah we learn that the Rasha (wicked son) does not accept Halachah as given, but chooses to do his own thing. So as punishment for excluding himself from the community and its leaders the Haggadah says to break his teeth.

Now we can understand. When you exclude yourself from accepting Halacha as determined by our Rabbis then as we see Kashrus becomes a business where Kosher becomes what suits the Rasha. So if the Rasha's teeth are gone he cannot sin by eating treif that easily.

ReplyDeleteThe chutzpah that Rabi showed to Rabbi Yair Hoffman was embarrassing. Rabbi Hoffman is an outstanding Talmid Chochom who has authored 13 seforim on Halacha. Unlike Rabi he has no biases or personal interests and Rabi treated him terribly just because Rabbi Hoffman proved that Rabi is mistaken re Halacha of Ben Pekuah.
Rabbi Dovid Lichtenstein, a serious Talmid Chochom interviewed Rabi on NY radio.

Rabbi Lichtenstein said the only benefit Rabi has achieved is that people will maybe learn about the concept of Ben Pekuah, although in USA nobody would actually buy it.
What I don't understand is even if Ben Pekuah would have been acceptable there are still many other issues!
